Our last day in Amelia Island

We are getting ready to go home today (back to reality!).  We had such a nice time and will hopefully come back again next year.  Jenny did the kids camp the last two nights and loved it.  She also did the kids camp one of the afternoons.  Yesterday we took Ava and Jenny to the beach (it was Ava's first beach experience).  Ava didn't know what to make of it!  Jenny of course loved it.  She went right up to another little girl and asked her if she wanted to play -- they spent an hour digging a huge hole and running around!  We finally left the beach and Jenny and I swam in the pool while Rachel and Ava walked around.  Jenny found another little girl to play with on the big lawn in front of the hotel lobby and they did cartwheels on the lawn for a long time!

At Amelia Island, FL

We arrived in Amilia Island on Tuesday for Spring Break and it is our first vacation as a family since the Texas finalization trip.  We are so happy to be here and everyone is relaxed.  Here are a few good photos.

We are in Fort Worth, Texas for Ava's finalization hearing this morning.  Will post more photos later but here is  my favorite from today's court hearing.  This one was taken right after we concluded the hearing.  The judge asked us to come up to his desk and he held Ava!  More to come later.

Here is a video I took today with Jenny and her Chinese sisters -- Katie and Caitlan.  As you can see, they get along so well and they are all so beautiful.  They were having such a good time being interviewed by me!

Today we met up with Scott and Elaine (and Katie and Kiran) and with Jim and Debbie (and Caitlan) for a nice lunch.  It's always good to get together with the Chinese sisters and they had a great time.  Here are a few photos.  I'll separately upload a video that I took.

Jenny at the Daddy-Daughter Princess Ball

Last night was the annual Daddy-Daughter Princess Ball fundraiser for the Gladney Foundation (the Texas-based adoption agency that we used for Ava).  Here are a few good photos we got, mostly of before we left for the ball.  There's also a good one of Jenny with her cousin Jessica and her good friend Alex. Jenny is wearing a dress that her friend Debbie found in Mexico that she decided would be perfect for the event.  Jenny agreed and the dress was a big hit!

Here is a video of Rachel and Ava.  Ava was in a great mood and it sounded like she was "talking" to Rachel.  She makes these talking sounds a lot.
